I have this exact same problem, I am pretty sure it is not a virus as I am using paid version of Kaspersky, and have recently scanned last week. I have tried the steps there, it fixed the issue temporarily but it again started.
I am on Win 10 Pro, 1 TB HDD and G.SKILL F4-3000C16S-8GTZR 8GB. I feel it's more than sufficient to run a basic program like firefox. What do you suggest?
Sometimes Firefox using a lot of memory can be a real pain as it would simply freeze the system and make it inoperable for quite sometime. Check the post!
