  • f4-3200c14d-16gfx vs f4-3200c14q-32gfx

    Greetings,

    I have a ryzen 2700x on a ga aorus 450b m with one kit of f4-3200c14d-16gfx.
I'm thinking on adding another kit of f4-3200c14d-16gfx.
I've contacted ga's support and they said it can in theory but it depends on the memory module and I should check the qvl on their site.
the most close entry in the mb's qvl is f4-3200c14q-32gfx. I've checked the specs on both kits and from what I can see, f4-3200c14q-32gfx looks like two kits of f4-3200c14d-16gfx.
    am I correct?

    Thanks,

    Dagg.

The difference is, with F4-3200C14Q-32GFX all four modules were actually tested to work together at XMP speeds on the qualified boards. With two kits of F4-3200C14D-16GFX it might work, but is not guaranteed.

This question is also covered in the official memory FAQ.
