  • Ram & motherboard compatibility

    HI and welcome all !

I have recently built a new system based on the ROG MAXIMUS X FORMULA motherboard.
    I am currently using the following RAM: G.SKILL F4-4133C19D-16GTZR Trident Z RGB Series 16 GB (8 GB x 2) DDR4 4133 MHz PC4-33000 CL19

Now my question is if i was to upgrade to 32GB of RAM can i simply purchase another identical set of (8GB x2) of ram and just slot it in? Or would i have to buy the 32GB quad channel bundle ? As the QVL doesn't help much in this matter.

Ideally the RAM needs to be replaced with a 32GB kit. If you purchase another same kit, there is no guarantee both can run at 4133 or near, and that is the risk.
