Hello,
Edit: The mother board model is MSI H55-G43 while I wrote H55-G42 by mistake.
My MSI H55-G43 was running fine with 2x2GB or RAM (from another vendor).
I wanted to have 16GB and therefore searched for compatible DDR3.
On https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3...8gbrl#tabs-qvl
I found that the F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL was compatible and ordered 2 of the following item:
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I opened one 2x4GB kit and placed them on my mother board.
Upon boot, the 8GB are well recognised in the BIOS and at the boot but windows will hang during the boot.
I created a bootable Memtestx64 usb stick and the machine reboots soon after the test starts.
On the MSI H55-G43, the memory slot are layed out like this (counting from the CPU socket): 2 1 4 3
I already tried the following:
I was happy to find those modules on Amazon as they matched my motherboard.
I'm quite concerned as I don't know what else I could have checked before placing my order.
I read already all messages concerning H55 chipset and/or F3-10666CL9D-* module but did not find anything relevant so far.
This costed me a total of 152€ so far and I'm really looking forward to find a solution.
Any genius having an idea for me.
Many thanks in advance,
Pierre

I already tried the following:
- placed one 4GB module in slot 1 and one "matched" 4GB module in 3
- placed one 4GB module in slot 2 and one "matched" 4GB module in 4
- placed one 4GB module in slot 1 and nothing else
- placed the other 4GB module in slot 1 and nothing else
- reset the BIOS settings to "fail safe" settings
- reset the BIOS settings to "optimal" settings
- redid those making sure to reseat fully the SDRAM modules
I was happy to find those modules on Amazon as they matched my motherboard.
