I have an Asus P8P67 Rev 3 and 2x4GB F3-12800CL8D-8GBRM. With the Rev 3 P8P67 I get what appear to be CPU halts (no log entries, screen stays on but freezes) and I am exploring the possibility that it's the wrong memory for my I7 2600K.
It is not on Asus QVL, and is 1.6V.
Hardware (disk, Radeon 8400GS) was stable prior to upgrade to MB/CPU upgrade to the original SandyBridge Asus P8P67. With the pre-recall (Sandybridge) P8P67 it also appeared to be stable at stock CPU speeds.
I tried using 1x4GB and I tried switching slots, but it still happens.
I am using latest bios 1850 which incorporates Intel uCode changes for memory stability.
I am presently trying 1x4GB at 1033 MHz to see if it is stable.
Would switching F3-12800CL8D-8GBRM to a different G.Skill memory for the P8P67+ I7 2600K be a possible solution, or is it unlikely and I should explore other possibilities first?
