I need some expert advice/help: Can I overclock my 16GB DDR3 1333 (F3-10666CL7Q-16GBXH) set; get 2 DDR3 1600 (F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM) since they have a low latency; or purchase a 16GB set of the DDR3 1866 (F3-14900CL9Q-16GBX), which can have a timing of 8? The F3-1400CL9Q specs do not mention the AMD Phenom II platform but a Llan platform; so I?m not sure if this set is even compatible. The reason I'm asking, because I do a lot of photo & audio editing, multitask like crazy [always streaming music with several other windows opened] and have plans on creating a couple of VMs. Bottom line, should I upgrade my memory or leave it alone?
I know about programming [retired system analysis] and build for learning and fun...anything you can share with an "Older Tekkie" would be very helpful.
Current build:
AMD Phenom II 1100T
Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5 motherboard rev2 with F5 bios update
Antec Kuhler H2O 920 cooler
4 WD RE4 500GB [on a 3Ware controller; 1+0 RAID]
1 WD 300GB Raptor for data
1 WD 640GB for backups
XFX Radeon HD 6870
X-Fi Titanium audio
Blu-ray ROM, DVD/CD r/w
Cooler Master ATCS 840
850 PSU.
