  • Question about voltage settings for...

This DDR3 1600 RAM kit (see link below for exact product)

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231193

I just built a new rig (specs below) and the mobo set the ram automatically to 1066 and 1.5v. I know the ram is rated at 1600 and 1.5-1.6v's, but when I change it to 1600 in the BIOS, the voltage goes to 1.65 fluctuating to 1.67 sometimes. My question is... is that voltage setting safe when using the auto settings, I am not sure if the voltage needs to be exactly 1.60 or what?

Also the cpu is not overclocked, is just raising the base to 1600 using auto in the BIOS sufficient?

Thank you for any assistance in advance!

Why let it run on auto?
This is exactly what happens when you let the mobo/bios decide for itself.
You should manually set the frequency to 1600MHz.
Then the memory timings (9-9-9-24) and the DRAM voltage at 1.50v.
