  • Is F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL compatible with ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z motherboard?

Are the F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL memory modules compatible with the ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z LGA 1155 Intel Z68 motherboard? I don't see the motherboard listed but do see other Z68 motherboards. Are there any compatibility issues putting four 4GB modules of that type into the motherboard?

    Thanks

the extreme-z is the exact same as the extreme minus the fact it is a z68 chipset. Chances are ASUS didn't even send the extreme-z to GSKILL to test it with yet.

Because the chipset has changed, there could be incompatibility, so I would like to hear from someone at G.SKILL or someone who has tried this combination, if the two are compatible.

      Thanks

It should work fine, but to fill all slots, a pre-matched 16GB kit is recommended. Sometimes two kits may not work well together. Also, RipJaws X is best for that motherboard.

I wish I knew that X was better, I would have ordered it instead (and saved money). You guys should talk to Asus, because they are recommending the R line and don't even have the X line listed for this motherboard, which is why I bought the R modules.
