  • Ripjaws X F3-12800CL7D-4GBXM with Gigabyte GA-H67MA-UD2H?

Can I use Ripjaws X Series DDR3 1600 F3-12800CL7D-4GBXM with the Gigabyte GA-H67MA-UD2H motherboard? The X series is supposed to be a good choice for the Sandy Bridge processors and chipsets, but they only mention the P67, not the H67.

The Gigabyte site lists F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO on the approved RAM list, but not the F3-12800CL7D-4GBXM.

If the answer is, yes I can use the F3-12800CL7D-4GBXM, is it a good choice for this motherboard, or is there a better choice?

Are there any special settings in the bios I need to make?

    Thank you!

Great choice, you need to input memory settings manually, or enable XMP in UEFI/BIOS.

Also, if you don't have an i7 or unlocked CPU, you may need to use traditional overclocking methods to achieve DDR3-1600.

    Thank you

Thanks for the quick response. I have an unlocked i5-2500K.
I didn't change any of the bios settings, so the ram is running at a lower rate.

What settings do I need to change? There is an XMP option in my BIOS. Should I just enable that? Thanks.

Yes, you can try enabling XMP and see how that works. You should also have the latest BIOS/UEFI.
