    G.SKILL PI+ Turbulence DDR3 2133 Ram
    http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=261

    I recently bought this ram.
and a Asus P8P67 PRO Motherboard.

I was wondering if the ram would work well with this motherboard?
I am also using an Intel i5 2500k Sandy Bridge CPU.

Would this ram be good with my motherboard and cpu?

I am worried because from what I read online,
people are saying that the ram doesn't work well with P67 motherboards...and stuff like that.

So I wanted to make sure.

And also on the Gskill product page, on the "Qualified Motherboards List" for this ram, there aren't any P67 motherboards...

    Also,
if I install the ram and just start my computer, will I get the 2133?
If not, what do I need to do in order to achieve it?

Would I need to overclock by going into my bios?
    Please help me out.

    Thank you.

The only reason why SB isn't on the QVL list is because the Pi series memory is specifically designed for the x58 chipset. There shouldn't be any issues though. It never hurts to give it a shot! Just make sure you don't overvolt the memory modules.

To answer your other question, yes you'd have to overclock to get the memory to 2133 Mhz by selecting 2133 mhz as the speed. However, I'm not sure XMP is available for the memory kit you've purchased. Should it be available it never hurts to give it a try.

      XMP?
      what is that?

Do I need it in order to overclock?

Then if it's not available for my memory, then I can not overclock?
But that doesn't make any sense,
cuz it says on the ram that it can be overclocked to 2133, that's the main reason I bought it.
      it says "DDR3-2133"

XMP is the Xtreme Memory Profile (spec profile as per RAM module purchased). i don't have any experience on the x58 platform. I jumped from AM3 to p67. My sincere apologies. You would have to raise the base clock in order to get the ram frequencies up to DDR3-2133. With specifics I'm not sure on your platform. My best advice is to run them at what the motherboard sets them to and I hope someone with more experience will come along and offer further advice.

It can work, you just need to set everything in BIOS because they will default to DDR3-1333.

XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) is like AUTO overclocking. It tells the motherboard you have better memory than DDR3-1333, so then the motherboard detects memory settings from the DIMM modules.

          Thank you
