I built my own machine with a Biostar TP55 MOBO / Intel I7 860 / Win 7 Ultimate. I originally had 4 GB of F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL and my machine was rock star stable. In Dec. I added another 4GB of F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL added to the mobo and now my machine intermittently and randomly freezes or dies. No blue screen, no error code just freezes and or dies. I updated my drivers so I am at a loss. I ran a mem test and it reported no issues. So I removed the new 4GB pair and I am back to stable with no issues. NewEgg will not take it back so now i need some help to diagnose or replace. My machine is controlling any overclocking and right now it is either very low or off. Please help.

    Other Specs of note:
    CPU speed: 2806.5mhz
    CPU Clock: 133.3mhz
    mem clock: 666.54 mhz
    PCIE clock: 100mhz
    PCI clock:33.3mhz
    CPU Voltage: .832
    Mem voltage (4gb only): 1.584
    Chip Voltage 1.104
    Cpu Vtt: 1.136

Test the new kit by itself. You may have two kits incompatible with each other.

Make sure all that is set in BIOS is DDR3-1600 9-9-9-24 1.50V

    Thank you

If they are the same model number, why would they be incompatible. That is why I bought the same thing.

Dual channel and triple channel motherboards are very selective. Although the model is the same, the memory will still slightly differ from each other. This is why we must have pre-matched, guaranteed kits from factory. 8GB, 16GB, 24GB, 48GB kits.

If there was no limitation, we would simply sell individual modules and you can purchase as many as you need.

        Thank you

I tested the new kit by itself, and once again I am back to nice and stable. I guess I have two kits incompatible with each other. I did play around with the bios settings and I have adjusted to 1600 and 9-9-9-24 and the voltage at 1.58v. This is with the new set, all is well. Please let me know what I have to do to RMA these then.

          Thanks,
          J

Troubleshooting doesn't help, you need modules that can work together. Instead of using two kits, send them in for one 8GB kit like this:

                http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2800cl9d-8gbrl

We can do a direct swap, and this way you should have no problems. If you want to do this, send in your RMA form again and this time let the RMA dept. know you want this model: F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL

On top of the RMA number on the form, input this "Please exchange for F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL"

                Thank you

That is what you sent me, a 2x4 set of F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL. Please let me know the proper setting for my motherboard and BIOS so that I can run at 1600 speed and be stable.

With the latest BIOS, try enabling XMP Profile.

                    Otherwise, set DRAM Frequency DDR3-1600, DRAM Timings tCL 9 - tRCD 9 - tRP 9 - tRAS 24, DRAM Voltage 1.50V

                    Thank you

Ok, I have tried both the recommendations, XMP-1 and manually setting the variables. I am still having the same problem when I run both sticks of RAM. Some more details:

                      OK:
                      - PC Ran fine with 2x2 (4gb) of ram

                      Not OK:
                      - PC does not run well with 4x2 (8gb) of Ram
                      - PC does not run well with 2x4(8gb) of Ram

PC will boot with any of the above configurations, so this is not an issue. It is stability when trying to run with 8gb of RAM. Is there some other BIOS setting I am not setting correctly? Maybe something on the north or south bridge? I have the most up to date drivers / BIOS. Is there anyone in Tech support I can call and discuss this with. This is really disappointing to have these issues with no resolution.

Post pictures of your BIOS and I can see if anything is set incorrectly.

                        Thank you

                          Still Having Issues

So today I went out and bought some Corsair XMS3 8gb (2x4) Ram for my machine, just to see if this would help. I thought I had a Main board issues, and I wanted to be sure before tearing apart my machine and sending the MB in for RMA.

The Corsair runs just fine in my machine, so I am thinking again it is the Ram is either bad or the voltage is too low. Bio star stated the MB is only rated to go down to 1.6 volts for RAM, could this be causing me issues? The corsair is presently running at 1.65volts. Please let me know what to do, I would like to get my G Skill ram running correctly or can you provide a refund to me, as I don't believe this Ram is compatible with my MB the Bio star TP55. Please advise on what I should do.

                          Thanks,
                          Jason

Send the memory in for RMA and try a new kit. For refund, you will need to contact your original place of purchase.

                              Assistance Please

Refund from New Egg is probably not going to work, b/c I bought this a while back.

Can you ensure me if I RMA this again, they can send me something that is compatible with my Biostart TP55? I have never had system issues like this and I want to ensure before I go through the trouble again I get this resolved once and for all. Thanks for all your help thus far.

                              Thanks,
                              Jason
