  • New G.SKILL Customer with a voltage question

Hi,First let me say how impressed i am with G.SKILL ram ,have to admit i always went with mushkin or corsair memory, G.SKILL out performs all the ram i used in the past, I do overclock and was wondering how far can i push the voltage, specs are 1.6v, Ripjaws X + Turbulence II Series F3-17600CL9D-4GBXLD - asus p67 deluxe- also researching the G.SKILL SSD G.SKILL FM-25S2S-100GBP1 at present time newegg is out of stock

gskill in my opinion makes among the finest (and fastest) Intel-tested memory modules to date. within my experience, the voltages you manually set on your RAM will heavily depend how much your motherboard fluctuates the current to each component. For instance I use a MSI 890FXA-GD70 motherboard (AM3 chipset). it can bump the voltages by up to 30 or even 40 mV! I try to undervolt one notch under spec because of this (or even two notches on the motherboard BIOS). If it doesn't post, big deal! You can set it to spec afterwards. Not every component is made precisely the same and are usually part of a batch.. pretty much like how fruits and vegetables are picked out of the farms, fields, vines/orchards. I'm happy to see users posting about their g.skill purchases in the forums as well. Feel free to ask me any other questions about your RAM. cheers.

1.65V no problem, but anything above that, you have to know what you are doing..

      Thank you
