  • F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ voltage running high

    New build with:
    Asus Rampage Gene III
    F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ
    I7-990X at stock speed
    Asus Radeon HD 6870

The documentation for the memory says tested at 1.5v On boot up the system defaulted to DDR3-800 running at 1.6v. I changed the frequency to DDR3-1600 and rebooted.
The system worked and the memory is running at DDR3-1600 speed. The issue is the voltage jumped to 1.66v on its own. I manually adjusted the voltage to 1.5v and the system would not boot. Only when I got back to 1.6v did the system run.

So, is this normal? Should the memory run at DDR3-1600 at 1.5v? Should I leave the voltage at 1.6v or move it back to 1.66v

    Regards,
    Robert

No, it should be capable at 1.50V. But if 1.60V is stable, just use that for now.

    Thank you
