  • BSOD on cold boot / Overclocking failed

    Hello everyone!

I recently purchased a new config on Materiel.net and I have BSOD.

Here's a quick summary of the config:
OS: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit
    Intel Core i5 760
    Western Digital Caviar Green S-ATA - 1000 GB - 64
Gigabyte GV-N460OC-1GI (GeForce GTX 460) in SLI
    Gigabyte GA-P55-DU4
    Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
    Intel X25-M 80GB "Postville"
    Corsair AX - 750W
    Extreme3 Kit G. Skill 2 x 4 GB PC12800 Ripjaws CAS 8

The first three weeks after purchase, I had no problems. I tested many games and various bench, without any problems.

I inadvertently press the Reset button on my tower during the POST. I immediately had an error message "Overclocking Fail".

Since then I have problems BSOD cold when Windows loads. Not all the time, but let's say 1 out of 4 starts ... Another (small) problem: My CPU fan starts spinning very fast sometimes for 2 seconds, while no particular program is launched.

    I already did some tests:
    • Formatting
    • Various Memtest: no error
    • Value changes in the BIOS

But still BSOD ... Additional Information:
    • The code displayed on the blue screen: 0x00000124
    • Bluescreenview.exe program tells me the blue screen comes from the driver ntoskrnl.exe

Many guys told me to ajust the Qpi/Vtt settings but I have still blue screens.

Last night, I had another freezer, without BSOD...

I was browsing pictures from a CD when a black screen appared, and then reboot.
Windows 7 launches correctly and then again, freeze and reboot...

    Any idea ?

    Post some BIOS pictures..

Did you test one module at a time with rated specs to see if one is defective?

    Thank you

Yes, every module was tested individually with correct settings.

        Performance Enhance - Standard

Try without XMP. BCLK 133, and also use the 12X memory multiplier to reach DDR3-1600.

QPI is fine on AUTO for this memory.

        Thank you
