  • Ripjaws vs Sniper

I am wondering if there is any difference between Ripjaws and Sniper memory, besides the obvious cosmetic differences. The timings, speeds etc appear identical. I've heard much more about Ripjaws than Sniper, but I like the lower profile of the Sniper heatsink.

The Sniper appears to not support a couple chipsets that the RJ does, but is this perhaps just an error on the typist at Gskill? Or would the guts of the two actually be different?

Yes, the guts (IC chips) are different, but overall specs are the same. They will perform very similar. The RipJaws has more information/reviews because the Sniper was just released. The lower heatspreader is great for people with large coolers, but most can clear the RJ anyway.

    Thank you
