  • ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 & F3-10666CL9D-4GBNQ Issue

I think my NQ sticks doesn't like nvidia cards very much, at least on my hardware. With an EVGA 8600GTS installed, I kept getting random hangs, reboots, and bsods. So I pulled the card and ran system using the onboard graphics. Runs great, could even test each ram stick which results with no errors in memtest86+ and prime95. To make sure, I reinstall the 8600GTS and problems came back. I've have tried manually setting ram timings (9-9-9-24 with 1T & 2T) and voltage (1.5V) in BIOS as well as upping CPU-NB voltage to +0.1V & the NB voltage, but doesn't help. Also tried the other dual channel slots and each stick indivdually.

Seeing the system run stable without the discrete graphics card made me believe my 8600GTS was failing. So I upgraded to a GTX460, but the random reboots and bsod's kept coming back. Borrowed a PSU and an identical CPU, same thing. But when I bought & installed Corsair CMX4GX3M2A1600C9, everything is stable.

These 4GBNQ sticks did run well without a graphics card installed and using the IGP for display. Could these NQ sticks still be faulty if they only gave problems when using either the 8600GTS or GTX460, or just incompatible?

Send them in for the Ripjaws to see if that will work better. Or check for the latest BIOS.
