  • Trying to run at 1600

    Mobo: M4N68T-M (Bios: 1004)
    CPU: Atholon II x4 620
    Ram: G.Skill F3-12800CL9-2GBRL

Tring to get this ram to run at 1600....if i manually set to 1600 and put the correct timings of the ram (9,9,9,24 1.5v) even tried 1.6v i get no post. If i leave everything on auto, it puts it at 533(7,7,7,21 1.5v) and everything runs fine.

The only way i can get it close to 1600 is by O.C the FSB to 220, then the mobo will put the ram up to 1460. Did prime95 for 2 hours and runs fine, but if i reboot from windows it will not post. (overclocking failed) Seems like i just need to adjust something to get this ram running at 1600. Any suggestions.

I am willing to overclock anything... have a very cold running case and temps are not an issue

    Thanks,
    Bula

    Enter BIOS
Go to Advanced Menu > Jumper Free Configuration

Scroll down to Memory Clock Mode and change value from [Auto] to 800Mhz - be sure and reset your CPU/HT reference clock back to 200 before rebooting

Set VDDNB Overvoltage Control to +100mV
    Set Chipset Voltage to 1.25v

Save changes, exit, reboot and test with Memtest 86+ version 4.10
    MSI Big Bang xPower x58
    Intel i7 950
    GSkill DDR3 2000 6x2Gb

Ok, i applied the above setting, and the mobo set the timings to 11,11,11,28 1.5v

so i set the timings to 9,9,9,24 1.5v and it passes memtest, but fails prime95 within 5 seconds.... got 1 BSOD as well.

So i upped the mem voltage to 1.6... been running prime for 20 min now and seems to be fine.

        Thanks for your help!!!
