I finaly built my self a decent system with this ram, i noticed if i dont mess around in the bios my system wont even load, does anybody know the settings i can use to squeeze the most out of it.

    System

    GB x58a UD9
    Core i7 950
4gb 2300 (18400) Dual, i know my board can do triple as well
    GB gtx 470 SOC
    MOBO - GB x58a-ud9
    CPU - i7 950 @ 4.0 GHZ
    Ram - 4 GSkill pc3 2300 (18400)
VID - GB GTX 470 SOC

It will be difficult to reach DDR3-2300. I would suggest some DDR3-2000 settings first.

    Try this:

    In MIT (MB Intelligent Tweaker):

    CPU Clock Ratio - 20x
    QPI Link Speed - AUTO
    Base Clock Control - Enabled
    BCLK Frequency - 167
    Performance Enhance - Standard
    Extreme Memory Profile - Disabled
    System Memory Multiplier - 12

    Uncore & QPI Features
    Uncore Frequency - 4008

    DRAM Timing Selectable - Manual

    CAS Latency Time - 8
    tRCD - 11
    tRP - 8
    tRAS - 28

Enter these for the other three as well.

    Channel A Timing Settings

    Advanced Timings
    Command Rate - 2

    Advanced Voltage Control
    Load-Line Calibration - Disabled
    CPU Vcore - 1.32V
QPI/VTT Voltage - 1.50V (You will need to find the stable voltage your CPU needs at each frequency)

    DRAM Voltage - 1.640V
    Rest to AUTO

    Thank you

Im just being stubborn, i have it stable at 2000mhz, running at 4.0ghz i just wanted to try to squeeze more out of it, it will not even boot if i try to bring it up, the MOBO hangs at C1 on the led.

What is your QPI/VTT Voltage? This needs to go up as you increase frequency.

Will probably need more than that to hit the higher speed - something in the neighborhood of 1.55v or possibly higher

You might also need to bump other voltages

            PCIe [1.60v]
            CPU PLL [1.86 - 1.90v]
            IOH Core [1.20 - 1.30v]
            MSI Big Bang xPower x58
            Intel i7 950
            GSkill DDR3 2000 6x2Gb
            Gigabyte GTX 460 x2 SLi
OCZ Vertex 2 SSD - OS Drive
            WD Black 640Gb x2 RAID0 - Apps and Programs
WD Black 1Tb backup and storage
            Corsair TX950W

Adjusting BCLK is how you adjust RAM Frequency a little at a time.

                    Thank you
