  • Memory not recognised Asus P6X58D-E G.Skill 6x2GB F3-12800CL9-2GBNQ

    Hello,

I bought a PC with the following specs:
    Asus P6X58D-E
    CPU Intel Core i7 930
    12GB Memory G.Skill 6x2GB F3-12800CL9-2GBNQ

No matter what I do, the RAM recognised varies every time I boot up. It goes from 4GB to the full 12GB (although very arerely), and I don't know what else to change in the settings.

I've tried may different voltages, moving the simms around, and checking the CPU pins and the fan screws, all to no avail.

Can you please help with a BIOS config that will work?

    Here are details from CPU-Z

Did you buy this RAM as a set or are these Dims from different same batches? I bought another set of PI's but they were defective and would not post to spec @ 1600mhz like my first set does. I tested every set individually and the new set would not make minimal specs. But I am not mad it happens bad batches get mixed up with speeds they should not be spec's for and plus Newegg made it right. Also bear in mind some folks cannot run all there sticks at rated speeds when six slots are populated, they have to run @ 1066 or 1333mhz it’s a known issue form some X58 boards. You may need to bump up the QPI voltage to 1.20-1.30v and the RAM may need to run at 1.60-1.65v to be stable. Also test each stick out individually at default settings and see if you can post a boot it may help narrow the problem down.
