I am using a GA-P55A-UD7 motherboard with an i860 and 2 sticks of F3-12800CL9S-4GBRL 1.5V gskill ram. I am not an overclocking hobbyist, I just want as much as I can get and be stable. With as little fooling around as possible. I have been trying to enter settings in the bios from a sort of OC for dummies tutorial with little success.
Gigabyte has a program called Easy Tune that will overclock at a single button push. The highest overclock button gives me about 3.8 GHz from the spec 2.8 processor. I could be happy with that (even more for 4 or 4.2, but stability is of the most importance). When it is doing this it has the ram set at 1.616V. Is this safe?
