  • Trident 2000 + ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 + i7 965

    Hello all,

This is my first post, so bear with me please! I just put together a brand new computer and I would like to know what the proper BIOS settings are for my RAM. Right now my 2000Mhz RAM is registering at 1300MHz.

    RAM: F3-16000CL9T-6GBTD (Trident 3 X 2GB)
    Mobo: ASUS P6T Deluxe V2
    CPU: Intel Core i7 965

    Thanks!

Take a look in the BIOS Configuration Guides!

Pretty much same settings, but you will need to find the stable QPI/DRAM Voltage for your particular CPU.

    Thank you

I made the adjustments and I just want to make sure that my RAM is running at or close to advertised speeds.

Here is what CPU-z is saying:

        DRAM Frequency: 999.7 MHz

        Is this good?

          That is good...

          999.7 x 2 = DDR3-1999.4

You can boost BCLK by 1 to get over DDR3-2000 =D

          Thank you

            Hello again,

So I made the changes that were specified in the guide and everything was running fine for about two days at 2000MHz.

But this morning I booted up my PC and I got a message in the BIOS post:

            Overclock Failed!

I chose the second of the two options it gave me which was to load the default settings for the RAM. Now I'm back to 1333MHz.

I'm guessing one of the settings was causing instability. Where should I look to fix this??

            Again, thanks!
