  • F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ on P5Q3

    Good afternoon,

    I have

    G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ

in an ASUS P5Q3 motherboard with the latest BIOS. The board runs fine at default settings with an Intel E6320 Core 2 Duo. I have a 700W power supply.

However, when I try to put in a Q8300 Core 2 Quad, I get blue screens of death randomly left and right. I've already returned the processor and gotten a new one, but it keeps happening. As such, I've started to suspect the RAM. I've attached pictures of the BIOS. Do you know if there's some sort of setting I can change to make the system run more stable?

Well, enter in all the settings and see how it works.

    Thank you

I entered all of the settings -- I'm still getting the BSOD with that processor. I see that a lot of people have lowered the timings and increased the voltage for the RAM -- is that kind of recommendation applicable here, and if so, what should I use?

No, the memory will operate at it's rated spec.

Post up screen shots with all the changes already so I can see what may be causing the problem.

        Thank you
