  • Gskill F3-16000CL9T-6GBRH compatibility

    hi,
    i'm currently building a corei7 + x58 + gskill system ( as my current system went down)

im looking to buy gskill for their superior speed and performance but im little bit confused whether it will be fully compatible with the system

    hardware
    ------------
    core i7 950
evga x58 sli ( only sli not the classified one )
    Gskill F3-16000CL9T-6GBRH

i will overclock the processor to ~4ghz.
so is the Gskill F3-16000CL9T-6GBRH going to work smoothly with it ?
or it will make some kind of problem ?
4ghz processor and 2000mhz ram will work fine na ?

    thanks

      re

      ok i have decided to buy F3-16000CL9T-6GBTD (2Gx3) .
but i wanna run 'em on 1600 mhz ( as it doesnt really deffer in speak of performance ) instead of 2000mhz to achieve tighter timings.
how much lower timing can i expect ? ( by stock its 9-9-9-24-2N )

      thanks.

7-7-7-21 is no problem, you can then try lower. The lowest should be 6-7-6-18.

            In MIT (MB Intelligent Tweaker):

            System Memory Multiplier - 12

            DRAM Timing Selectable - Manual

            CAS Latency Time - 7
            tRCD - 7
            tRP - 7
            tRAS - 21

Enter these for the other three as well.

            Channel A Timing Settings

            Advanced Timings
            Command Rate - 2

            DRAM Voltage - 1.600V
            Rest to AUTO

Whatever it is on the memory. Some are 1.60V, some are 1.65V

                    My Trident kit (Gskill F3-16000CL9T-6GBTD rated at 1.60V) can't run @ 6-7-6-21.
I tried almost everything but always got a lot of Memtest errors.
Is my kit faulty? Is this a valid motivation for RMA?

                    Thanks

                    UPDATE: Errors even @ 7-7-7-21 (1.60V)

                        Try raising tRFC to 80.
                        tRTP 7

You can also see if 1.65V is stable, in case 1.60V is slightly not enough.

Keep us posted on the results.

                        Thank you

tRTP is showing 9, also, have you tried 2T?

                            Thank you

Regarding tRTP I set 7 in BIOS but CPU-Tweaker shows 9.
                              Yes I also tried 2T.
