  • i5 760, evga p55 sli question ...

    Hello,

I'm planning on overclocking the above to 4ghz.

Which of these following G.SKILL ram choices would be more suitable for my purpose:

    F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL (2 x 2gb)

    OR

    F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO (2 x 2gb)

Also, if I wanted 8gb of ram, could I buy for example 2 kits of F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL? Or would it not work properly because no 2 kits are IDENTICAL?

Would having 8gb ram instead of 4gb on P55 board make overclocking my i5 760 to 4ghz more difficult? I've read that somewhere, but I wasn't too sure if it was true or not.

    Thanks!

ECO is great choice for P55 platforms. It is also VERY good for overclocking.

You should be able to add another kit for 8GB, but it is not guaranteed. On rare occasions, there will be a compatibility problem. But, if you send them all in to us, we can send you a kit that works together.

Yes, 8GB is more difficult to OC, but the P55 has no problem. DDR3-2400 is easy. ;-)

      Thank you

        You're kidding right?

So if I run into compatibility issues with my 2 kits of 4gb, all I would have to do is send them all to you guys, and you'll send me a compatible 8gb kit ... that's the best customer service ever

I'm so glad I went with you guys

BTW, I ended up purchasing F3-12800CL8D-4GBRM instead (good sale). I'm hoping these are suitable as well for my purposes?

Thanks very much for your help!
