  • Interesting Observation

My rig - originally running 6Gb of F3-16000CL9T-6GBRH at DDR3 1900Mhz 8-9-8-24 in triple channel mode

Everest Ultimate Read Speed = 20606

Added one more 2Gb stick of the same RAM for a total of 8Gb. Installed in the proper DIMM to continue to allow triple channel mode - now read speeds have dropped to 19101

Is the drop because Everest is reading into the next channel (i.e. channel 2) when accessing this new stick?

If I pull the new stick and run with only 6Gb read speed returns to = 20606.........

Strange. Can anyone else duplicate my findings on an Asus x58 board running 8Gb of memory in triple channel mode?

This is normal. There is always a slight performance decrease when using both channels.

      Thanks for the confirmation.

I know, it seems like I have too much time playing around with this kit doesn't it?
