Hi everyone. Ok, I purchased the Gskill F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM over two months ago and attempted to use it with my Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3. I experienced nothing but instability and BSOD's for weeks. After much frustration, I RMA'd the Gskill F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM. Today I finally received the two new sticks.
I placed them in the Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 and so far, so good...no system crashes, no BSOD's, no symptoms of instability [I am keeping my fingers crossed]!
I am presently running MemTest86 v4.10. The good news is so far, no errors. So far so good! And this makes me very, very happy.
The present settings I see are:
Chipset : Core IMC (ECC : Disabled) / BCLK: 133MHz
RAM: 666MHz (DDR3-1332) / CAS : 9-9-9-24/Dual Channel
Here is my question:
How can I bring the settings up to run the full 1600 MHz?
How can I change the timings and settings to experience the full 1600 MHz?
Please help me understand how to go safely from 1333 MHz up to 1600 MHz.
Must I enable XMP? Must I manually change the timings? Must I alter the voltage?
Is there anyone here that has the exact same Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 with the Intel i5-750 and the F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM RAM and you have achieved a stable system that is running at the advertised 1600 MHz?
Please let me know the exact changes in the BIOS settings and voltages.
Thank you,
Soar
