  • BIOS Settings for RAM on MB

How do I manually set my BIOS for the memory. The BIOS is currently set to "AUTO" for all of the settings. I would like to use the rated voltage settings for the RAM as well as the proper timings which is indicated on the small sticker on the RAM. I don't wish to overclock the system. I believe I can use a lower system voltage.

    Main System Components
    G.SKILL ECO Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO

    GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 AM3 AMD 890FX

    AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor

COOLER MASTER Silent Pro M600 RS-600-AMBA-D3 600W ATX12V V2.3 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

    Thanks!

Select MB Intelligent Tweaker (M.I.T) from the BIOS menu
    >Select DRAM Configuration>Change DDR3 Timing Options from [Auto] to [Manual]>

Change the four primary memory timings>
    Cas# Latency = 7
RAS to CAS RW Delay = 8
    Row Precharge Time = 7
Minimum RAS Active Time = 24

Change the 1T/2T Command Timing from [Auto] = 2T

Don't touch anything else in here

Under *SYSTEM VOLTAGE OPTIMIZED* change System Voltage Control to [Manual]>
    DRAM Voltage Control = 1.35v

    Leave everything else on auto.

    Save BIOS changes and exit.

You're welcome. I'm bored over at OCC forums so thought I would try and contribute here some. Plus I'm a huge fan of GSkill memory which has treated me very very very good the last few years in both price, performance and reliability. I use GSkill almost exclusively now (well occassionally pick up a kit of Mushkin.......)

Oh yea? I haven't been in contact with Dave @ OCC for a while, should probably do so to stir things up and have some G.Skill influence. =)

          Thank you
