  • eVGA SR-2 motherboard memory recommendation

I'm looking at memory for an eVGA SR-2 motherboard running 2 CPUs. Each CPU will be running 3 modules.

The memory I'm looking at is called out below.

Are these confirmed to work with the SR-2, AND at the stated timings?

Also, if I get the DDR3-2000 kit, is it also able to function at equivalent (or better) timings of the DDR3-1600 kit (with memory set to run at 1600)?

    F3-12800CL7T2-24GBTDD 6x4gb 7-8-7-24 DDR3 1600
    F3-16000CL8T-12GBTDD 3x4gb 8-9-8-24 DDR3 2000 (get 2 of these kits)

Yes, both kits will work just fine. The DDR3-2000 kit can surely do what the DDR3-1600 can do.

    Thank you

      kit specs

Thanks, I got two of the DDR3-2000 kits, and early testing shows they work at both speed and rated settings.

Do you have the specific values for these settings for both the DDR3-2000 and DDR3-1600 kits? (obviously for the XMP profile settings @ 2000 and 1600).

      tWR
      tRFC
      tWTR
      tRRD
      tRTP
      tFAW
      Back-to-back-cas-delay

(cpu tweak doesn't work on the SR-2, so I can't read these values currently).

The motherboard will automatically detect these to it's desired settings, but they should look close to this:

        tWR 12
        tRFC 88
        tWTR
        tRRD 6
        tRTP 6
        tFAW 30
        Back-to-back-cas-delay

        Thank you
