  • Rampage II extreme + F3-16000CL9T-6GBRH

    Hi,
First, could you tell me the difference between 6GBRH and 6GBTD ? Is it important ?

I installed my kit and set the memory level to 2000. All was working but I began to have cold boot problems and it finished to 1066 instead of 2006.
So I tried your manuel settings but never reach to start.
Could you please give me the best settings in order to use the kit at its best frequency.
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards

6GBTD is slightly better, it also has better heat spreaders.

Best settings are in the BIOS Configuration Guide section, but if you are having the cold boot problem, I would suggest sending the memory in for new replacements and try a new kit.

    Thank you

      Xmp

      Hi,
Memtest found a bad stick so I changed the kit.
I received a new kit. I cannot start when putting XMP profile...?
      2006 Mhz and 21
I have to stop, go to bios setup, put "auto" then "XMP", restart.
Then it works but if I make a restart, it does not work and have to do the same as above.
Knowing that Memtest indicates all is allright, do I have to complete the XMP profile with other changes ?????
      Thanks

        Raven,

Even with the XMP profile you'll need to make a couple changes in your BIOS

        1. Double check DRAM Voltage and manually set to 1.60-1.62v
        2. You MUST increase QPI DRAM Voltage to between 1.4875-1.5000v - otherwise that kit will not run at DDR3 2000 speeds

        Intel i7 950
        GSkill DDR3 2000 6x2Gb
        Gigabyte GTX 460 x2 SLi
OCZ Vertex 2 SSD - OS Drive

However, I'd dump the XMP profile and go with manual input of the G.Skill recommended configurations as GSkill Tech referenced in his first reply. For your sake I've taken the liberty of copying them and pasting them here (with a few minor changes based on my experience)

                bad settings

                Hi,
I tried all the settings you indicated and had to make a clear MOS in order to restart the PC.
I finally used the memory level up at 1805 Mhz and it works without problems.
                Thanks
