I recently purchased a pair of 2GB G. Skill Ripjaws (after reading some great reviews) and I was wondering if they will be compatible with my system:
Model of the motherboard: Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 AMD870
Model of the memory: G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL Ripjaws PC3-12800 4GB
Model of the CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition
The qualified boards listed on the G. Skill website doesn't include the 870 series, but after reading around this forum and others, it seems that there are no problems between this memory and the motherboard. I'm hoping that even though the memory is optimized for a Core i5 system, it will still work well with the configuration I have.
Are there specific changes in the BIOS (or elsewhere) that I will have to do in order for it to be stable?
Thanks!
