  • f3-12800cl9t-6gbnq + asus rampage ii gene locked.

i build my comp today and i cant post. i tried mem ok function on the ram and it goes up to 25(not normal) and then stops and says fail. i called asus support. some guys are helpful and some are stubborn as hell. one guy told me its the cpu thats "locked" and another said its the ram since its not posting and memok cant find suitable timings for it. asus tech also said this ram is incompatible for some reason. while i have heard multiple people saying this ram would work. i really dont want to rma because id be losing over 30$ and over 2 weeks worth of time. i tried running them 1x1 and 2x2 seperately but it doesnt work. when i take the cpu out tho the post reader doesnt say locked, but i was told that was because there is no cpu to run the memory or something. pls help

Do not use the memOK function.

Reset the BIOS. Pull the plug from the power supply side. Remove the battery on the motherboard. Wait a minute, and reinstall the battery. Install a module in slot A1 and boot. If it does not boot, try another module. If all three do not boot, you will need to double check installation. If all is OK, then you may need to replace the motherboard. The memory is surely compatible, and should surely boot with one stick installed with a clear BIOS.

    Thank you
