  • DDR3 Gskill 1600 2x2gb memtest errors?

Ok so I upgraded a few parts on my gaming rig over the weekend and have some stability issues so I ran memtest last night and came up with some errors.... should I RMA the ram?

    My specs
    Biostar ta890GXB
    thermal take 750w
    1055t 250x14 HT-2000mhz NB-2000mhz
    Ram- 9-9-9-24 @ 1.62v @ 1600
    GTX 470

    Problems I would have
Black screens during gaming, sometimes BSoD in heavy graphics in games. Oddly enough overclocked or not does not change if I crash either way I will crash within 10 or 15 minutes of All points bulletin, Starcraft 2 or BC2

Memtest when I woke up found this (mind you I ran these settings while everything in bios was at AUTO settings so factory 200x14 ram @ 1333 @ 1.5v)

    Test-4 Pass-2 Add-0008b6fb0f8-2230.9MB Good-5404a6a2 Bad-1404a6a2
    Err Bits-4000000 Count-1 (9passes-31 errors)

I just grabbed another set from newegg so I could have 8 gigs.... but now I am thinking I will have to do without while I RMA this pair.

Not sure which kit you have, but make sure it is set to the right voltage. If the voltage for the memory is 1.50V, set it to that, not 1.62V.

Or, try DDR3-1333 8-8-8-24 and see if that makes a difference.

If you still have errors, simply send them in for new replacements.

    Thank you

I changed the settings to 1333, 8-8-8-24 @ 1.5v and memtested it while I was in class today

Error found in the same spot 2230.9mb. So when my 2nd set comes from the egg I will RMA this one thanks for help!

The reason I set the voltage to 1.62 (even tho 1.6 is selected I get 1.58, 1.65 nets 1.62) before is I set the memory to 1600, 8-8-8-24 or 9-9-9-25 (i'm pretty sure that was the timings) and I couldn't even get it to boot into windows unless I was running at least 1.6v, 1.58v would BSoD on boot.
