  • Cant get F3-12800CLD9-4GBRL to run at 1600mhz

I Have tried all the suggestions first from sticky posts with to no avail

    From suggestion sticky:
    5. If you do need help, provide the RAM in question, the amount of RAM, mobo, BIOS version, CPU, whether you are OCing, GPU (and driver), OS version, and any other data you think pertinent to your problem. Also try and be prepared for additional questions.

    Hello,

Please excuse me before hand for as I have been kinda out of the loop for like 7-8yrs with performance/gaming rig building and alot has changed since. I am no where near veteran oc status.. Iv dabbled with some success in the past. from beginner to slightly advanced, but things have changed as ive said, and i do not want to fry my board.

I just purchased the ripjaw 12800's 4g(2x2g) kit. I cant seem to get the sticks stable at 1600mhz even with defaults in the bios. After defaulting from my previous overclock (which was done by a friend who is no longer around, deployed to iraq) and putting the sticks in, it recognized at 1333mhz with a fsb of 333 but changed my cpu multiplier from where i had it bfore @8.5 stock to 7.5 @3.0 and did not pick up my stock ghz which is 2.8. also tried xmp and left rest on auto and not stable as well.(xmp changed the timings to 8-8-8-24-2t from the recommened 9-9-9-24-2t.)

I then proceeded to try to get the sticks to run at 1600 mghz with the default processor value that came up @3.0ghz 7.5x333 but was unstable in prime 95 within the first minute. I also tried to raise my muliplier to 8.5x400 to try and get 1:2 ratio but was also unstable in prime within the first min. I then tried to raise some voltages Vcore and NB a tick at a time for a few ticks with no sucess. I dont want to go to high because not sure of how high i can go safely. Im a bit confused atm, my board says that it can oc ram to 2000mhz but i dont know it that speed is attainable. i would like to run my rig @3.2-3.4 with ram at 1600mhz. maybe im missing somthing..

I dont get any crashes or any bsod's and windows loads fine but in prime 95 within the first 1min the 1st 2 cores are getting errors. I dont remember the exact error text but it was along the lines of rounded to .05 was expecting less than .04 Hareware failure. I do not knwo what this means and i do not think its the sticks as i have ran memtest, and both passed. There must be somthing i am not entering correctly in the bios may it be voltage or timmings of ram/cpu/fsb/vtt's/pll's or whatnot.

I did however get it stable for 6hrs or so in prime to run at 1521mhz @3.2ish 8.5x380. Current Bios Settings:

Hopefully someone can help me out and give me some advice so that i can at least get a stable 3.2-3.4ghz and run the full 1600mhz of ram i paid for (crosses fingers)

    Thanks in advance
