  • p6x58d + F3-16000CL9T-6GBTD + xmp = ?

hey there... i've recently pieced together my computer and had some issues with xmp in bios booting up windows. basically whenever i enable xmp and windows starts to load it instantly freezes with a blue screen... says something like the computer shut down to prevent damage to components or some jazz like that, not what it all says because it only flashes just briefly. anyways i did some reading up on this forum and thought i'd try increasing the default QPI/DRAM from 1.4 to 1.45 with xmp enabled and it seemed to work... i just want to know if my computer is going to explode from this because i have absolutely no clue what i'm doing.

    computer specs:
    i7 930
    g.skill 3x2gb trident F3-16000CL9T
    evga gtx 470
    corsair 750hx
    asus p6x58d premium
    crucial c300 256gb ssd
    corsair 800d
    windows 7 home premium 64

Great, that is exactly what you should do. Now just find the lowest stable value in case it only needs 1.35V and you have it set to 1.45V.

    Thank you
