  • F3 12800CL9 4gbrl 1598 mhz, 799mhz

    cpu: i7 860
    mobo: GA P55A UD3
    ram: F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL

cpu-z, memtest86 and bios shows that I am running at 1598 and 799 mhz instead of the advertised 1600 and 800.
Is this normal and I am just over reacting??
set with XMP, 9-9-9-24 command rate 2
    DDR voltage 1.5v
    QPI voltage 1.1v

sorry for the newb question, i did use search....

It is just how the multipliers work. BCLK 133 x 12 only gives you DDR3-1596 or 798MHz. These are just rough estimates as you can see since it is actually DDR3-1598 and 799MHz, so there must be fractions that we do not see because we don't need to be that accurate.

But if you want to see at least DDR3-1600 800MHz, set BCLK to 140, that will give you a tiny overclock that the memory/CPU/motherboard can easily handle. If you would like to increase higher, you will need to raise DDR Voltage and QPI Voltage.

    Thank you
