  • The infamous Asus M4A785TD-V EVO Motherboard!

    Hello folks,

Please be gentle with me, I'm not exactly what you would describe as completely computer literate.

Anyway, I am about to put together my new desktop PC with the following parts:

    AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz AM3
    Asus M4A785TD-V EVO
    Ripjaws F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM (2Gx2)
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

It would appear from reading many posts on this and other forums that the Ripjaws are not entirely compatible with the Asus motherboard and that a few tweaks are required in the bios settings.

I would be grateful if someone could please walk me through this process so that I am fully prepared the moment I switch on the new build.

    Regards, Tim

In BIOS, set DRAM Frequency to DDR3-1600
In Advanced DRAM Configuration, set timings to tCL 8 - tRCD 8 - tRP 8 - tRAS 24
    DRAM Voltage 1.60V
    CPU-NB Voltage 1.20V

Once that is complete, everything should run just fine.

    Thank you

Thanks GSKILL TECH, I am still waiting for the RAM to arrive, though when it does I will try those settings out and let you know how I get on. Regards, Tim
