  • Help with ram timing

    cpu: i7-860 @3.36
    mobo: p7p55d-e pro
    ram: F3-12800CL7D 4gb

Ram is running stock right now, 7-8-7-24 1600mhz, 1.65volts. I would like to push my cpu further, but i dont know what kind of timing i need to make it stable at 1800 or 1900? I dont have any experience overclocking or changing memory timing.

Thank you for any help in advance.

I would drop the ram back, Then start pushing bclk. See how high the cpu will go first, Then do the ram.

Well right now im running at 3.36 instead of 2.8 because i can change the ratio of the ram so its still running at stock speed (1600ghz) I know i can push the cpu to 3.64 and all the way to 3.90, but id like to keep it at 3.64, but when i reach that clock, my ram is somewhere around 1800mhz so its unstable, and if i drop the ratio again it goes to like 1400mhz or something close. I dont wanna drop it that low because i dont wanna lose performance.

1.65V or 8-8-8-24, you should not have a problem with DDR3-1800.

Thank you for the help, 8-8-8-24 worked. I set it to 8-9-8-24 to get it a little higher, 1850.
