  • F3-12800cl9d-4gbnq + msi p55-gd65

    Hey everyone,

I just built a new system with the following components:

    F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ

    MSI P55-GD65

    Intel i5-750

First the RAM are working at 1,333 MHz instead of 1,600MHz as they must be.

Second I'm having BSOD sometimes during login.

Please can you give me the correct BIOS configuration step by step to solve this problem and have these RAM running perfectly nice?

I hope these BSOD are not part of the "COLD BOOT" problem everyone is talking about...

    Thanks!

Try enabling the XMP Profile, or manually configure the memory settings.

    DDR3-1600
    tCL 9 - tRCD 9 - tRP 9 - tRAS 24 - Command Rate 2
    1.50V

    Thank you

I tried enabling the XMP Profile, after that my computer rebooted like 2 or 3 times and finally it doesn't start up at all. Now, when I turn it on I can just see the system fans, HDD and GPU working but there's no boot. Also I can't see the monitor and keyboard turned on.

What can I do? Now I have no computer

      Thanks

Reset the BIOS, then try manual settings. Also, do you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard?

          Ok... I resetted the BIOS.

          I entered the manual settings: tCL 9 - tRCD 9 - tRP 9 - tRAS 24 - Command Rate 2 but I couldn't find the way to change the 1333MHz to 1600MHz.

And no, I don't have the latest BIOS version...

Whoops forgot you have the i5 CPU, the memory multiplier is 10X max. 133 x 10 = DDR3-1333

Set Adjust CPU Base Frequency to 160. Adjust CPU Ratio 18.

            Then your memory will change to DDR3-1600, 160 x 10 = DDR3-1600.

            Thank you

Cool, it's working with the configuration you just gave me. Thank you!

Please look at these pics of the BIOS and tell me if you see something wrong.

The only thing I'm now noticing is that loading Windows is a little slower after this. However, I'm hoping these RAM are fine and they don't have the "cold boot" problem everybody is having and I think I have too.

Let's see how my computer behaves with the new settings and wait until tomorrow to see if there's no more BSOD.

Thank so much for your help.

Yes... BSOD every time the system is turned up cold! I upgraded the BIOS to the latest version and it hasn't helped to eliminate BSOD, however the only improve I've seen with this upgrade was running the XMP profile stable.

So, I think I am another one with this problem. What should I do now?

Please help me to fix this problem, it's pretty frustrating.

                Thank you

Please send the memory in for new replacements and that should solve the problem.
