  • new build with: F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ

As the topic says i am building a new system, upgrading from the nforce 680 series.
    new hardware is:

    mobo: asus rampage II extreme
    cpu: i7 930
ram: g.skill F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ (ordered the perfect storm 2133, waited a month but still uncertain if they got them in stock, so i ran withe ones mentioned)

i was reading a rewiev of done by hardware canucks where they managed to run the sticks in cl10 at over 1800 mhz, http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...-review-6.html thats what i am aiming for, so my question is:

what timings do i use? i see some of the timings used in the rewiev, should i go with them and leave the rest of the memory options on auto?

thanks! i am up and running even at 1T command rate
and @4ghz on stock intel cooler for now.
however i get a bsod sometimes when opening cpu-z , else it seems stabile so far

The BSOD is concerning. Have you done any stability tests? (Prime95 and Memtest?) If those pass from a cold boot, your BSOD might be software related or possibly a hard drive issue.

          Good Luck.

i did run prime 95 and real temp, but running a stock intel cooler, it is nerve wrecking , temp reached 97 degrees celsius, and i shut it off. ill run it once my swiftech block rad and 655 pump comes. but i played several hours of battlefield bad company 2 without a hickup on everything maxed out at 1650 x 1050, pulling 120-80 fps. and temps where no where near the prime temps.

I'd run Memtest from a cold boot (system is off for about 6hrs) just to make sure the memory is okay. Other than that, everything sounds pretty stable. Maybe there is just an issue with that version of CPU-Z on your system for whatever reason.

Nice frames in BC2, by the way!
