  • BSOD with 770TA-UD3 and F3-10666CL8D-4GBHK

I have a gigabyte 770TA-UD3 motherboard with an
AMD Phenom II X2 Black Edition processor, X2 550 3.1 GHz socket AM3
installed. I installed four modules of F3-10666CL8D-4GBHK, DDR3-1333
PC3-10666 2048MB memory. The memory is listed as supported by the
    motherboard manufacturer.
The motherboard automatically sets the memory at 9 9 9 24, and I have
manually set it to 8 8 8 21 at 1.5 volts as listed on the memory, I
have replaced the motherboard and have the same problem, BSOD after one
or two reboots, I am running windows 7 64 bit.
I have run with only 2 sticks and the same issue occurs, I have
tested both pairs on the windows memory test and they test OK when the
computer is not recovering from the BSOD.
I have tried various settings, ganged, unganged, T1 and T2 and lowered the memory speed as advised in one post. I tried running with one stick and the computer became very unstable. I have run for a day now with the other 3 sticks and omitting that stick.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

Kind of answered it for yourself. Seems like that one module may be defective. Simply send it in for a new replacement.

    Thank you

Thanks, I requested an RMA number today for the pair, because I had instability even with the 3 sticks, though not as bad as with the one omitted. Thanks

I received a pair of replacement modules and replaced the pair including the suspect module. I have had no problems since replacing them a week ago, thanks for your assistance.
