  • Gigabyte GA-790FXTA-UD5 & GSKILL 8 GB (4x2GB) DDR3 F3-10666CL8D-4GBHK

    Hello, I have.....

    Memory: 2 sets of the GSkill F3-10666CL8D-4GBHK DDR3 10666MHz ram (4x2GB sticks)
    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-790FXTA-UD5 AMD AM3
    CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965BE C3

.....I'm getting timing of 9's across the board, but they're rated at 8. What should I put my settings (and voltage) at to achieve 8's for all four sticks?

Simply enter the settings on the memory and/or memory packaging into the BIOS.

    DRAM Frequency - DDR3-1333
    DRAM Timings - tCL 8 - tRCD 8 - tRP 8 - tRAS 24 - Command Rate 2
    DRAM Voltage - 1.50V

Once that is complete, everything should run just fine. If you encounter slight instability, raise NB Voltage to 1.30V and that should help.

    Thank you

My motherboard can run these in 1600 mode with a x8.00 Memory Multiplier. Here are the auto settings the sticks turn into:

      11-11-11-29-2T

      TwTr Command Delay 6T
      Trfc0 for DIMM1 110ns
      Trfc0 for DIMM2 110ns
      Trfc0 for DIMM3 110ns
      Trfc0 for DIMM4 110ns
      Write Recovery Time 12T
      Precharge Time 6T
      Row Cycle Time 40T
      RAS to RAS Delay 4T

Unfortunately, the system is now very sluggish. What settings do you suggest? Also, what voltage would you recommend? Much appreciated!

        Put these numbers in 8-8-8-21T-2T-5T
        Trfc 0 Thru 3=160ns
        DDr voltage =1.65
        SB/HT voltage=1.40
        memory clock=x6.66=1333mhz
        EC firmware selection =Hybrid
        rest at auto

Sorry, I should've been more clear in my last post. I'd like to overclock these to 1600. Those timings are what the motherboard automatically comes up with, but what would be proper timings for the 1600 speed?

You can try 9-9-9-27. It may also need more DRAM voltage such as 1.65V.

            Thank you
