Instability problem with F3-12800CL8D-4GBRM with Asus P7P55D-E Deluxe

Hello GSKILL TECH Administrator and Other members of the forum,

This is my first time to experience the G Skill memory. However I have to say I am very disappointed with the ram because I?m having the same instability issues that many others are having.


My system is:

P7P55D-E Deluxe with the newest Bios 0711
F3-12800CL8D-4GBRM
i7-860
Power Supply TT Toughpower 750W
Ati Radeon 5870

The main problems I am facing now are

1. the memory sticks can not pass MemTest 4.0 memory stability test, 5% coverage will result 9 errors!! I have to stop there
2. when using winrar to unzip the .rar file, I will have a lot of CRC unmatched error messages, although the files are OK in other system.

I have these problems when I set AI Overclock Tuner to XMP, with everything else default (no overclocking on CPU)! I have already tried to adjust different memory settings in bios, with no success.

i.e.

AI Overclock Tuner - Manual
CPU Ratio Setting - 17.0 for 2.80GHz
BCLK Frequency - 160
DRAM Frequency - DDR3-1600MHz

DRAM Voltage - 1.60V
CPU PLL Voltage - 1.90V

DRAM Timing Control (submenu)
CAS Latency - 8
RAS to CAS Delay - 8
RAS PRE Time - 8
RAS ACT Time - 24

DRAM Timing Mode - 2N
All others can be AUTO


For this memory, which settings should I use? Or I have something bad indeed!?

Try testing each module with the XMP Profile; you should find that one probably works slightly different than the other. If so, simply send them in for new replacements and the new set should work much better.
