  • Do errors in Memtest86+ mean bad RAM?

    My Rig:

    GIGABYTE GA-MA790XT-UD4P
    AMD Phenom II X4 955 125W (C2)
    G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-6GBNQ (8GB - 4X2) - bought 2 sets - the other 2 are in another rig.
    9-9-9-24-2 NB at 1.40V
    All else @ default

I am getting errors ~4000 when running memtest86+

The computer will not boot at 1600Mhz (800)
The report is actually that the RAM is running at 1332 (Cas=8.8!)

Is this a RAM problem? Is there any more information that is needed?

    Thanks for your help!!

NB Voltage is unnecessary. Load BIOS defaults, set DRAM Frequency to DDR3-1600. DRAM Timings 9-9-9-24 and memtest again with each stick.

If any error, simply send them in for new replacements.

    Thank you
