  • Having trouble getting max speed from my 12800cl9, any hope?

Greetings, I was having some trouble getting my ram to run stable at 1600mhz.

I have attached all the data I think is needed. I am running at 666.7 instead of 800mhz.

Anyway, if I cannot get the full speed that is fine, but if you can help me thank you. Any questions you have please ask I check this post at least once a day.

DDR3 1600, you'll need to set the timing manually in BIOS to get DDR3 1600
by the way, as we tested, it is not common to reach DDR3 1600 on AMD 770 platform
we'd recommend you to run DDR3 1333 to get best stability
    thanks

I've tried manually selecting 1600mhz, with the proper cas/tras.. ect timings. But no good, should I try other settings or am i beating a dead horse?

And are there any better settings to use while running at 1333mhz? Thank you.

you could try to increase NB and HT voltage to 1.4-1.5v to see if it improves
but we don't think it's easy to reach

you could set it to 7-7-7-21 or 8-8-8-24 with DDR3 1333
        thanks

Testing NB voltage at 1.4 will see if it holds. I can't see to find HT voltage on my bios settings.

Currently 9-9-9-24 1.65volts ram, 1.4volts NB, manually set ram speed to 1600mhz.

          Here is hoping it holds.

edit: not stable, I'll just go with 1333mhz, is there a performance difference between 7-7-7-21 timings and 8-8-8-24?

Thanks again, the support here is phenomenal.

The support here is miles above...well some other company. There is a possibility of getting 1600 MHz stable on the 770 chipset with a C3 stepping processor, but your best bet is to try to run 1333 @ 8-8-8-24, which, unless I'm off my rocker, is close to 1600 @ 9-9-9-24.

That is correct. DDR3-1333 8-8-8-24 will essentially provide the same performance as DDR3-1600 CL9. You can also try lowering to 7's, but 8 is no problem.

              Thank you
