  • Memory errors with 2 dimms w/ GA-790XTA-UD4 & 965BE

    Hi,

I purchased a set of 4GB 1600 ram, however when I install both DIMMS I
am getting BSODs such as"Page_Fault_In_Non_Paged Area",
"IRQL_not_less_than_equal_to" along with others. I also got a
couple of thousand errors in memtest86+ V4.0.

These problems go away when I run only 1 DIMM.

Model of the motherboard: GA-790XTA-UD4 with F2 flash
    Model of the memory: F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ
Model of the CPU: Phenom II 965 BE

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Did you configure memory settings in BIOS?

    DRAM Frequency DDR3-1600
    DRAM Timings tCL 9 - tRCD 9 - tRP 9 - tRAS 24 - Command Rate 2
    DRAM Voltage 1.50V

Once that is complete, everything should run just fine.

    Thank you

      Hi

I am already running at the following.

      DRAM Frequency DDR3-1600
      DRAM Timings tCL 9 - tRCD 9 - tRP 9 - tRAS 24 - Command Rate 2
      DRAM Voltage 1.50V

I tried NB and HT running at 1.5V and 1.4V respectively (as high as my mainboard would allow me to adjust these voltages). Also tried DRAM at 1.525V and still getting errors in Memtest86+ and BSODs in Windows.

I have also tried changing the multiplyer to run the DRAM at 1333hZ and tightening the timings and also running at 13333hZ and leaving the timings at 9/9/9/24

I've treid combinations of all of the above.

This happens in all DIMMS and with either of the 2 modules or both together.

Strangely, when I remove and replace the same module into the same DIMM the errors disappear for a day or so.

      Any ideas?

      Thanks,

      Steve

Go ahead and send those in for new replacements. The new set should work much better.
