  • ASUS Rampage II Gene

Ok, after nightmarish lockups, reboots, and crashes, I switched from OCZ3G1600LV6GK to F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ G.Skill.

I set the timings to 9-9-9-24 with voltage at 1.57v

I haven't changed QPI, which is running at 1.38v, or any other settings.

I'm not a hardcore overclocker. I just want 1600 ram to work at 1600 without crashing around me. Any other settings I should configure? TIA

If everything is running fine, then you should be set. I would suggest manually setting the QPI, this way the motherboard operates it the same every time.

Every time I boot cold, it only recognizes 4gb.

If I go in and change 1600mhz to something else, save it, and then set it back to 1600mhz it comes up fine with 6gb for the rest of the day. (and I'm doing some major VMWare stuff, definitely using the 6gb, no problems)

Any ideas on how to fix that? I have no idea what the QPI should be set at... ?

Send the memory in for new replacements and the new set should work better.

Before I RMA, I'll try setting the QPI manually. What should I set this memory at QPI-wise?

          Thanks again for the help

DDR3-1600 should be roughly 1.40V for QPI/DRAM Voltage.
