  • 8Gb DDR3 on ASUS Rampage Extreme best/most stable option

I'm not new to building systems or OC but normally I would just get RAM based on basic stats and price which has worked fine for years, but I'm older and wiser now so I'm researching everything I plan on buying.

So my question is what would be the best option for 8Gb DDR3 for my ASUS Rampage Extreme, I'm looking for the best data rate, timing and stability that has good out of the box performance and head room for OC.

From what I can tell [ Ripjaws ] F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH or [ Ripjaws ] F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL x2 would be my best option but as I said I'm kinda new to RAM timings ect so any professional advice or personal experiences would be greatly helpful.

P.S. price is not really a problem

Either one should work fine. For DDR3-1600, just make sure your CPU FSB is running fast enough to operate the memory at the proper speed.

Ok was just worried that using 4 memory sticks might cause stability problems, but I have an Intel Q9300 OC to a FSB of 1601.8MHz so it should be compatible with the DDR3-1600
