  • F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO and Asus P7P55D EVO question

    Hello all,

I am in the middle of building a new machine and just ordered the following:

    Intel i5-750
    Asus P7P55D EVO mainboard
    F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1600 CL7-8-7-24 1.35V Memory Kit

My question is if I want to increase my memory from 4 gigs to 8 gigs, I would like to just be able to purchase another set of the same ram, so that I have all 4 slots used.

I have read in some places that the memory will have trouble reading the speeds properly, thus i should fork out the huge increase and get the 8 gig modules instead.

Is this possible? Is it supported? And is there any changes I will need to make to ensure it works properly?

Hopefully someone can send me in the right direction.

Look forward to seeing how this ram performs.

    Kev

Simply enable the XMP Profile and you should be able to operate both sets at DDR3-1600. The 8GB kits are fully tested so it would be better to puchase those, but since you already have one kit, you may just want to give a second kit a shot.

    Thank you
