  • Problem on G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333

    We bought 2 x ?G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-4GBRL? from Newegg.com with other material.
When the MySQL database installed on the machine started being a little under stress we had data corruption and eventually the computer froze. Stressapptest (http://code.google.com/p/stressapptest/) reveled some problems. MemTest86+ immediately confirmed problems on one DIMM of the 4 DIMMS on the machine. We could see a huge amount of red rows on MemTest86+.

After identify and removing the broken DIMM, further stress tests revealed problems on another DIMM (one red row).

We are actually trying to find out which DIMM is defective (we removed one DIMM and running the test right now).

    We have the following configuration:

    Motherboard Brand / Model:Foxconn P55A-S
    CPU:Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz
    Watts of Power Supply:500W
    Operating System:Ubuntu Server 64bit 9.10

We wonder if running memtest86+ for a while is sufficient to detect problems with the other DIMMs.

Can we return the DIMMs for a replacement? Are you going to pay for the shipment?

Test them individually with the proper memory settings in BIOS. They should run fine individually, if not simply send them in for new replacements.

Visit our website for complete RMA procedures, or contact your original place of purchase.

    Thank you
