  • G.Skill F3-12800CL7D-4GBRH has wrong SPD?

Can anyone tell me if something is wrong here?

    I bought a pair of DDR3 memory. F3-12800CL7D-4GBRH. They are advertised as DDR3-1600 *PC3-12800* 2048MBx2 CL7-7-7-24 1.6v

However in both memtest86+ 4.0 and CPU-Z the SPD says Max bandwidth is PC3-10700 and not PC3-12800.

Is something incorrect with my modules?

That information is based off your motherboard. Use the memory tab instead for actual memory frequency and timings.

The maximum default for your motherboard is DDR3-1333 (PC3-10700), which is why the SPD values for 667MHz are shown, but then for DDR3-1600 (800Mhz) it is shown as EPP#1 instead. Enhanced Performance Profile must be enabled, or the memory settings must be manually configured.

There should be nothing wrong. If all settings are properly configured in BIOS, the memory tab of CPU-Z should show DRAM Frequency at roughly 800MHz and timings at 7-7-7-24

    Thank you

I just bought the F3-16000CL9D-4GBRH DDR 3-16000 2000mhz Ripjaws. In CPU-Z 1.52.2 , SiSoft SANDRA ver. (the latest free one) and also in AMD OVERDRIVE it is showing F3-10666CL7-2GPI for the part #. I am using a PII 955BE C2 Gigabyte GA-790XT-UD4P latest bios. I have seen these in CPU-Z and they show the proper model and they also show the 1000mhz XMP in the 4th spd spot. Now I have had them running at 1800mhz already with little effort. Just wondering why the SPD is setup for these / stick of ram.

Please post pictures so we can take a look. They may have been programmed incorrectly.

Yea, chances are it was programmed incorrectly. As long as it is performing to specs, it should not be a problem.

                  Hopefully :/

I also have just bought the MSI GD-70. I will see if it runs to spec when i get that in. How could this have happened? I have not been able to get it to 2000 in thisi board. But i haven't tried much yet. The MSI GD-70 willl be a much better testing platform. Will post my fndings.
